Success Education Colleges’ Leadership to Gather for 8th Annual President’s Retreat
Two-Day Event Allows SEC to Continue Focusing on Helping Students Succeed
WEST COVINA, Calif.—From June 13-14, Success Education Colleges’ (SEC) Leaders, Board Members, Leaders In-Training, and Invited Guests will come together for a time of collaboration and learning at the organization’s 8th Annual President’s Retreat. To be held in Orange County, California, the event will capture the vision for the future of this family of allied health colleges.
“This is a highly anticipated retreat—the dedicated time to evaluate our progress and continue to find ways to put our students first and educate them for success is invaluable,” explained SEC President Mitchell Fuerst.
In addition to presentations from SEC leadership, attendees will have the opportunity to learn from an incredible line-up of guest speakers, as the retreat draws esteemed thought leaders representing a variety of sectors to share their expertise. Serving as this year’s distinguished speaker is Bob Olson, President of R.D. Olson Development—a Newport Beach, California-based firm engaged in the development of commercial properties nationwide with a specific focus on hotels and resorts. One of the most accomplished entrepreneurs in Orange County, Mr. Olson has received a number of prestigious awards for his accomplishments in hospitality development and entrepreneurship.
Attendees can also expect to hear from Andrew Jahn, President of Adventist Health’s Southern California Region, who oversees 7 hospitals, 25 outpatient clinics, and 2 ambulatory surgery centers. Jahn will offer his insights into leadership and health care, gathered from his many roles in hospital administration.
Fashion guru Elyse Walker is among the speaker line-up and will be sharing with attendees why she believes “every day is a runway.” Elyse’s name has grown to become synonymous with fashions that take on many forms. Elyse is also the founder of towne by elysewalker, along with the fashion website, Forward.
The retreat will also include a presentation from Lucy Santana, who will focus on what it means to inspire a future generation of girls as she draws from her experience as CEO of Girls Incorporated of Orange County. Girls, Inc. is committed to transforming girls’ views of themselves and their opportunities. Since Ms. Santana took the helm in 1999, the nonprofit has gone from serving 1,500 girls to serving just over 3,500—empowering them to become Strong, Smart, & Bold.
“This retreat is looked to as one of the finest examples of professional development in our sector of education—and it is thanks, in large part, to the high caliber of our guest presenters,” Fuerst shared. “I know this eighth annual gathering will be both thought-provoking and yield exceptional insights.”
“At the heart of it is our passion for our students. We truly believe every person who walks through our doors is a life that can be transformed by the power of quality career education,” Fuerst continued. “These retreats are a huge way we remain committed to our mission and vision as an institution.”
